Zen Meditation: Focus and Energy

Meditation Assignment:

  1. Grab pillow.
  2. Sit or lay.
  3. Relax.
  4. Regulate breathing.
  5. Focus:  Think about these questions:  Where / what are you focused on?  Is it meeting your needs, exceeding your needs, serving you, inspiring you, etc.?  Have you been grateful recently?  Are you focused on getting or giving?  What decisions have you made that have shaped your now?  What different decisions / actions could you make?  Will you?
  6. Guided:  Pick a goal (more consistent sleep patterns, better eating, being in the moment, positive thinking, exercising, better job, etc.)  Now, envision yourself taking action – everyday and every hour in your life.  Replay, over and over.  Think of and envision how you will handle situations, obstacles, and things that come up…  Envision the perfect day with your new habit / change / focus / etc.  Rinse and repeat, but change it up.
  7. After meditation:  Live it.  Enact it.  Be it.
