“Things are as they are. Looking out into it the universe at night, we make no comparisons between right and wrong stars, nor between well and badly arranged constellations.” ~~ Alan Watts
“Out beyond ideas of wrong-doing and right-doing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about. Ideas, language, even the phrase ‘each other’ doesn’t make any sense.” ~~ Rumi
- Grab pillow.
- Sit or lay.
- Regulate breathing.
- Focus: Life is an illusion even though we try to convince ourselves otherwise. There have been many times when I thought a bad thing had happened and in the end it turned out the be a good thing… in reality all it was was a – most important – moment of transition… an illusion. I am sure you too have had many.
- Guided Exercise: While you ponder the path walk the path. View you life from the outside. I like to envision myself walking on a soft grassy path with my mother (for she embodies the universe now) discussing life’s twists, turns, options, and choices.
